16 July : A Gala Jubilee Concert in the Royal Festival Hall to be given by the European Orchestra, as its first performance, under Jan Latham Koenig (Director, Strasbourg Symphony Orchestra) with large screens outside in Festival Square for the general public.
Programme: Sinfonietta (Janacek), Piano Concerto no 2 Rachmaninov (Evgeny Kissin, pianist), Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis (Vaughan Williams), Daphnis et Chloe (Ravel), including choir.
