- The Library
- The Chairman has a considerable topographical and historical
library, which includes all Victoria County Histories, most other county
histories, Kelly's Directories, peerages, baronetages, and other genealogical
and heraldic books
-
- The Library is not open to the public, but post graduate
students pursuing a recognized course in higher education may use the Library
free of charge by appointment
-
- Manorial documents
- The Society does not keep manorial documents, but maintains
an inventory of the location of manorial documents. The Society encourages
the deposit of manorial documents in County Record Offices, or other recognized
institutions, and can arrange for such deposits to be made on behalf of
owners. The deposit of manorial documents does not end ownership of them.
Many are deposited on permanent loan. We hold the addresses of all the County record offices and archives throughout the UK.
